This symposium, titled "Hernia Hacks: From the midline to the pelvic floor", is dedicated to providing practical strategies and innovative approaches for managing a variety of complex hernia scenarios. The session will feature four focused talks. The first talk will discuss techniques for off-midline closure aimed at reducing incisional hernia formation, a common and vexing complication. This will be followed by a presentation on current approaches and outcomes for parastomal hernias, a challenging problem often requiring specialized techniques. Next, a discussion will explore the evidence for and against synchronous vs. staged repair of abdominal wall hernias in conjunction with colectomy, helping surgeons decide the best course of action for their patients. The symposium will conclude with a talk on the latest surgical approaches for perineal hernias, a rare but difficult-to-manage condition that can significantly impact patients' quality of life. This symposium will provide a comprehensive overview of modern hernia management from the abdominal midline to the pelvic floor for the practicing colorectal surgeon.Learning Objectives:
