Dr Trudel is a Clinical Professor of Surgery (Adjunct Faculty) at the University of Minnesota. She obtained her MD degree from Laval University, Quebec City, Quebec, Canada and completed her General Surgery Residency at McGill University, Montreal, Canada. She has an MSc degree in Experimental Surgery from McGill University, Montreal, Canada and a Masters degree in Health Professions Education (MHPE) from the University of Illinois, Chicago.
She completed a Colorectal Surgery Fellowship at the Cleveland Clinic Foundation, Cleveland, OH and is a Diplomate of the American Board of Surgery and the American Board of Colon and Rectal Surgery. She is a Fellow of the Canadian Royal College of Surgeons (FRCSC), the American College of Surgeons (FACS) and the American Society of Colon and Rectal Surgeons (FASCRS).
She was Program Director of the Colon and Rectal Surgery Residency Program at the University of Minnesota from 2007 to 2016. She is a past Vice-President of the ASCRS, and a Past President of the American Board of Colon and Rectal Surgery.
