Dr. María Dolores Herreros, MD, PhD, Consultant Colorectal Surgeon, at Fundación Jiménez Díaz University Hospital, Madrid, Spain. She obtained her Medical Degree in 2000 and completed her residency in General Surgery in 2006. In the same year, she was awarded a PhD with European distinction.
In 2008, she obtained certification from the Educational Commission for Foreign Medical Graduates (ECFMG) after successfully completing the United States Medical Licensing Examination (USMLE). She subsequently completed a Colorectal Surgery Fellowship at the Mayo Clinic, Rochester, MN, USA, in 2010.
Dr. Herreros has more than 15 years of research experience in the field of stem cell therapy, with a particular focus on its application in colorectal diseases. She serves as Principal Investigator in several national and international clinical trials in this area.
Her clinical practice is focused on colorectal cancer, inflammatory bowel disease, and advanced cellular therapies. She currently leads the Inflammatory Bowel Disease and Stem Cell Therapy Unit at Fundación Jiménez Díaz University Hospital.
