Jun Seok Park, MD, PhD, is a Professor of Surgery at Kyungpook National University Chilgok Hospital and the School of Medicine at Kyungpook National University in Korea. He also serves as Chief Executive Officer of EROP Co., Ltd., a medical device company in Korea dedicated to developing innovative surgical technologies. Dr. Park is a board-certified colorectal surgeon whose clinical and academic career has been centered on advancing the surgical management of colorectal cancer.
Dr. Park received his medical degree from Chung-Ang University School of Medicine in 2001 and completed his internship and surgical residency at Chung-Ang University Hospital, where he later earned his PhD in Surgery. He went on to undergo advanced fellowship training in colorectal surgery at Seoul National University Bundang Hospital and Chung-Ang University Hospital, gaining comprehensive experience in minimally invasive, robotic, and oncologic colorectal procedures.
With more than two decades of clinical and academic experience, Dr. Park has established himself as a leading expert in rectal cancer surgery, particularly in surgical anatomy, oncologic outcomes, and optimization of operative techniques. His research interests include ligation strategies in rectal cancer surgery, high-precision lymph node dissection, extracellular vesicle–based biomarker development, and translational oncology. He has published extensively in high-impact, peer-reviewed journals and has contributed to numerous international collaborative studies aimed at improving diagnostic and therapeutic strategies for colorectal cancer.
In addition to his academic contributions, Dr. Park is deeply involved in surgical innovation through his leadership at EROP Co., Ltd., where he focuses on the development of practical and clinically relevant surgical devices. He is a frequent invited speaker at national and international scientific meetings and continues to serve as an educator, researcher, and surgeon committed to advancing global colorectal cancer care.
