Dr. Bailey Hilty Chu, MD is a general surgery resident at the University of Rochester. She grew up in Western Colorado, completed her undergraduate degree in Religious Studies with a minor in Spanish at the University of Colorado, and her medical degree at the Geisel School of Medicine at Dartmouth. Dr. Hilty Chu is a current research resident in the Surgical Health Outcomes Research Enterprise (SHORE) lab at the University of Rochester, with research focusing on contemporary management and surgical outcomes in colorectal cancer. She has focused her research primarily around nonoperative management for rectal cancer and challenges surrounding this treatment strategy. Dr. Hilty Chu will be returning to clinical residency this coming year and is anticipating a colon and rectal surgery fellowship following completion of her general surgical training.
