Dr. Nir Horesh is a General and Colorectal Surgeon and current fellow at Cleveland Clinic Florida in Weston, FL. He graduated cum laude from the University of Bologna School of Medicine and completed his MD thesis at Edith Wolfson Medical Center in Israel.
Before joining Cleveland Clinic, he served as an Attending Surgeon at Sheba Medical Center, trained as a General Surgery Resident at Mount Sinai Hospital, New York, and worked as a Visiting Scientist in the Department of Immunology (Elinav Lab) at the Weizmann Institute of Science.
Dr. Horesh serves on the Research Committees of ESCP and SAGES, is a former board member of the Israeli Society of Colon and Rectal Surgery’s Scientific Committee, and previously served as an examiner for the Israeli General Surgery Boards. He is also an Associate Professor at Tel Aviv University.
He has received multiple distinctions, including the Excellence Merit Award at the ACS Clinical Congress 2022. Fluent in Hebrew, English, Italian, and Spanish, he has authored numerous peer-reviewed publications and international presentations in colorectal surgery. Dr. Horesh reviews for leading journals such as Lancet Gastroenterology, British Journal of Surgery, and Diseases of the Colon & Rectum, and sits on the editorial boards of Frontiers in Surgery and the World Journal of Gastrointestinal Surgery.
