Maria Fernanda Pereira de Almeida is a third-year medical student at the Centro Universitário do Planalto Central Apparecido dos Santos (UNICEPLAC), Brasília, Federal District, Brazil. The medical school uses active learning methodologies (PBL, TBL, and case-based learning), which strengthen clinical reasoning, autonomy, and early decision-making. There is early practical exposure through contact with the Brazilian Unified Health System (SUS) network in the Federal District, broadening both clinical and social perspectives on healthcare.
