Dr. Jacob Applegarth, MD is a fifth year general surgery resident and former ACS-AEI Simulation Fellow at Corewell Health East, William Beaumont University Hospital. Dr. Applegarth received his medical degree from Indiana University School of Medicine in 2021. Throughout his career, Dr. Applegarth has been dedicated to research and medical education and has held various positions throughout medical school and residency. During medical school he served as a student researcher at St. Jude Children's Hospital where he participated in pediatric palliative care research, which resulted in several noteworthy publications. As a resident he has continued his research interests in the care of cancer patients with projects in colon and rectal cancer, and he hopes to continue his career with a fellowship in Colorectal Surgery.
