Ji Won Park, MD, PhD, is a Clinical Professor of Colorectal Surgery at Seoul National University Hospital (SNUH), Seoul, Republic of Korea. He specializes in colorectal cancer surgery, minimally invasive and robotic surgery, and perioperative quality improvement.
His clinical and research interests include total neoadjuvant therapy in rectal cancer, advanced laparoscopic and robotic colorectal surgery, prevention of surgical site infection, and data-driven surgical quality assessment. He has played a key role in developing and implementing national clinical guidelines in Korea, particularly in the field of surgical infection prevention and enhanced recovery pathways.
Professor Park is actively involved in clinical research, including prospective cohorts, randomized controlled trials, and large-scale registry-based studies. He also conducts translational and artificial intelligence–based research focusing on prognostic modeling and outcome prediction in colorectal cancer. His work has been published in leading international journals, and he frequently serves as a reviewer and speaker at international academic meetings.
He is committed to education and international collaboration, mentoring trainees and fellows from multiple countries and contributing to the advancement of colorectal surgery through research, guideline development, and global academic exchange.
