Héctor Javier Rivera Jacquez, MD, is a physician-in-training currently completing a rotatory internship at Auxilio Mutuo Hospital in San Juan, Puerto Rico. He earned his medical degree from Caribbean Medical University and completed clinical clerkships in both Puerto Rico and Georgia, gaining broad exposure to surgical and medically complex patient populations.
Dr. Rivera Jacquez has a strong academic background, holding a Ph.D. in Chemistry and a Master of Engineering in Management from the University of Central Florida and the Polytechnic University of Puerto Rico, respectively. His research experience spans molecular biophysics and computational chemistry, with multiple peer-reviewed publications focusing on protein dynamics and biomolecular systems. His interdisciplinary training integrates basic science, engineering, and clinical medicine to address complex biomedical challenges.
His academic interests include medical toxicology, environmental factors affecting dopaminergic pathways, and the development of molecular biosensors, drug design, and medical devices. His work aims to bridge mechanistic science with clinical application to better understand disease processes and improve patient care.
Dr. Rivera Jacquez will begin residency training in Family Medicine at Emory Healthcare in 2026, where he plans to integrate clinical practice, research, and education to advance innovation in patient-centered care and population health.
