Din Lukban, MD, is a graduate of the straight Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery residency program at the Philippine General Hospital, University of the Philippines Manila. Her clinical and research interests center on trauma and complex wound care, microsurgery, and context-appropriate surgical innovation in low- and middle-income settings.
She is actively involved in outcomes and cost-effectiveness research on improvised negative pressure wound therapy (NPWT) for complex wounds, with broader interests in public health–oriented surgical systems, gender-affirming care, and expanding access to equitable reconstructive services.
Dr. Lukban is deeply engaged in surgical education, resident training, and hands-on skills workshops, with a strong interest in alternative and innovative teaching methods. She is committed to evidence-based practice, capacity building, and interdisciplinary collaboration to advance high-quality, accessible reconstructive care.
