Shadin Ghabra is currently a general surgery resident at MedStar Georgetown University Hospital- MedStar Washington Hospital Center, Washington DC.
She completed a surgical oncology research fellowship focusing on liver immunology and immunotherapy in hepatocellular carcinoma at the National Cancer Institute (NCI), National Institutes of Health (NIH), Bethesda, MD. Her research in Tim Greten’s lab focused on liver immunology and the effects of immunotherapy in hepatocellular carcinoma post-surgical resection. Shadin worked as a research fellow at Houston Methodist Hospital, division of Minimally Invasive Colon and Rectal Surgery in Houston, TX. Prior research includes metastatic colorectal cancer, cytoreduction (CRS), and heated intraperitoneal chemotherapy (HIPEC) with Paul H. Sugarbaker, M.D. She also completed the post graduate High-Impact Cancer Research program at Harvard Medical School, Boston, MA. Shadin received her M.D degree from the University of Sharjah, United Arab Emirates (U.A.E). After graduation, she then completed an ACGME accredited 5-year general surgery training obtaining the Arab Board of Health Specializations for General Surgery.
