Diego Schaps, MD, MPH is currently a fourth-year general surgery resident at Duke University Medical Center. He has a particular interest in quality improvement and health services research. He is a Department of Veterans Affairs Quality Scholar Fellow where he focuses on fleshing out the epidemiology of and improving healthcare outcomes for patients with ostomies at the VA, nationally, and globally. Diego is planning on applying to colorectal surgery fellowships upon the completion of his general surgery residency.
