Maria Ximena Traa Kiely MD MPH FACS FASCRS is an attending colon and rectal surgeon at Johns Hopkins Medicine. She attended medical school at Cambridge and Oxford Universities and completed general surgery residency at Tufts Medical Center. She later pursued a Masters in Public Health at Harvard School of Public Health followed by colorectal surgery fellowship at OHSU, Portland OR. She subsequently joined The Oregon Clinic, where she taught Colon and Rectal Surgery fellows for seven years and became managing partner of the Center for Advanced Surgery group, prior to joining Johns Hopkins in Washington DC in 2025.
