This presentation will provide an update on how the rectal tumour environment shapes neoadjuvant treatment response in mismatch repair proficient rectal cancer. Attendees will learn how pre treatment immune activity and immune responses measured after initiation of treatment play important roles in determining outcome. In addition, novel strategies for targeting the immune compartment in the management of pMMR rectal cancer will be outlined.
