Dr. Paul Johnson, MD, FACS, FASCRS is a Colon & Rectal Surgeon in Memphis, Tennessee and is affiliated with Methodist Le Bonheur Healthcare in the Surgical Oncology Department of the Methodist Cancer Institute. A proud alum of The University of Florida, Johnson went on to graduate with honors from Meharry Medical College. Before coming to Memphis, Dr. Johnson completed residency at Rutgers: New Jersey Medical School, a Colon Rectal Fellowship at AdventHealth in Orlando, and practiced at the Cleveland Clinic Florida as a general and colorectal surgeon. He is an active member of ASCRS, SAGES, and the Society of Black Academic Surgeon. He has garnered many awards in medicine and continues to present at conferences, publish in peer-reviewed journals, and is an active reviewer for the Diseases of the Colon & Rectum. In addition to his love for the colorectal pathology, he is passionate about diversity, equity, and inclusion and increasing the presence of underrepresented minorities in medicine—and more specifically, surgery.
