Hussam Shwaib, MD, MAS, MS(c), is a PGY-4 General Surgery resident at Rutgers Robert Wood Johnson Medical School in New Brunswick, New Jersey. His academic interests include colorectal cancer, artificial intelligence in surgery, and intraoperative navigation technologies. His research focuses on the development of AI-enabled surgical navigation systems designed to enhance real-time anatomical visualization and improve intraoperative safety. Dr. Shwaib holds a Master of Applied Science in Patient Safety and Healthcare Quality and is currently completing a Master of Science in Healthcare Systems Engineering, both at Johns Hopkins University.
