Kay Uehara, MD, PhD completed her medical degree, and obtained her PhD at Nagoya University. Her residency training was at National Cancer Center Hospital, Tokyo. Currently, she is an Associate Professor, Department of Gastroenterological Surgery, Nippon Medical School.
Memberships include Japan Surgical Society, Japanese Society of Gastrointestinal Surgery, Japan Society of Coloproctology, and Japan Society for Endoscopic Surgery. She is a member of the Guidelines Committee of the Japanese Society of the Colon and Rectum.
Her research and clinical interests are surgery for locally advanced and recurrent rectal cancer and extended pelvic surgery.
