Shravani Sripathi, MD
General Surgery Resident, Central Michigan University
I completed medical school in India and developed an early interest in surgery during my clinical training. While rotating in the United States as a medical student, I was particularly drawn to Colorectal Surgery because of its unique combination of minimally invasive and open procedures, anorectal surgery, and endoscopic interventions such as colonoscopy. I was especially interested in the wide spectrum of pathology managed within the field, including colorectal oncology, inflammatory bowel disease, fistulas, and other complex benign and malignant conditions.
My interest in Colorectal Surgery continued to grow throughout residency training, where exposure to diverse operative cases and patient care further reinforced my commitment to the specialty. I value the technical complexity, multidisciplinary nature, and evolving innovations within the field. I look forward to contributing to and growing alongside the continued advancements in colorectal surgery throughout my career.
