Allyson Powers, MD, is a PGY-4 General Surgery Resident at Cleveland Clinic in Weston, Florida. She earned a dual bachelor’s degree in Biology and Human Nutrition from the University of Florida before completing medical school at the American University of Antigua College of Medicine in partnership with Florida International University. She is currently completing her general surgery residency at Cleveland Clinic Weston.
Dr. Powers has a strong academic interest in colorectal surgery, with a particular focus on colorectal cancer, low anterior resection syndrome (LARS), and anorectal disease. She is passionate about improving surgical outcomes and quality of life for patients through both clinical excellence and her current research projects.
In addition to her clinical training, Dr. Powers serves in a leadership role as a GME Resident Ambassador, where she is involved in resident engagement and institutional initiatives that support graduate medical education.
Outside of medicine, she enjoys spending time outdoors in the Florida sunshine, especially at the beach.
