Russell Hollis, MD, MBA is a general surgery resident at Northwell Health, North Shore University Hospital and Long Island Jewish Medical Center. He has completed three years of training and is currently in dedicated research time as a PhD candidate in the Elmezzi Graduate School of Molecular Medicine. In this role he is investigating mesenteric ischemia and reperfusion injury. He is also dedicating time to clinical projects in colorectal surgery, including pilonidal disease, early ileostomy reversal, mental health in colorectal cancer, and colon cancer screening. In his free time he enjoys spending time with his wife and baby daughter, playing soccer, tennis, skiing, and learning Spanish.
