Jorge Gonzalez Serrano is a medical student at Universidad Anáhuac México. He is currently completing a clinical and research observership in Houston, Texas, with a focus on general surgery and colorectal surgery. His academic work centers on perioperative outcomes in colorectal surgery, including predictive biomarkers for anastomotic leak and strategies to improve patient outcomes. He has presented his research at international surgical meetings, including the American Society of Gastrointestinal and Endoscopic Surgeons and the American Society of Colon and Rectal Surgeons. He is interested in pursuing a general surgery residency in the United States, followed by fellowship training in colorectal surgery.
