I graduated from the Catholic University of the Sacred Heart in Rome in 2018 and completed my specialization in General Surgery in 2023, with a focused interest in colorectal surgery. My clinical and research activities are mainly centered on inflammatory bowel disease (IBD) and rectal cancer.
During my residency, I developed advanced expertise in both laparoscopic and open colorectal procedures, training extensively in high-volume centers across Emilia-Romagna, including the Bologna Alimentary Tract Surgery Unit under the mentorship of Prof. Gilberto Poggioli.
I further strengthened my academic and surgical background through a research fellowship at Mayo Clinic Florida under the mentorship of Dr. Luca Stocchi, where I refined my clinical research skills and deepened my experience in evidence-based colorectal surgery.
Currently, I am actively involved in robotic surgery for IBD and colorectal cancer, with a particular interest in the development and implementation of emerging robotic platforms, under the supervision of Prof. Matteo Rottoli.
