Madeline Cohen, BS, is a third year medical student at the Larner College of Medicine at the University of Vermont and a research collaborator with the Department of Surgery at the University of Vermont Medical Center. Her academic interests include colorectal surgery, surgical oncology, and clinical outcomes research. Her research has focused on improving the accuracy of preoperative MRI staging in rectal cancer, as well as applications of artificial intelligence to improve diagnostic performance. She plans to pursue a career in academic surgery with interests in oncologic care, research, and innovation.
