Dr. Steven Chao is currently an Assistant Professor at Weill Cornell Medicine and a Colorectal Surgeon at New York-Presbyterian Queens, roles he has held since 2016. He completed his fellowship in Colon and Rectal Surgery at Rutgers Health/Robert Wood Johnson Medical School and his medical degree at the University at Buffalo. His residency in General Surgery was at Brown University. His research focuses on how sociodemographic factors affect surgical outcomes, health equity in patient-centered care and leveraging ermerging technologies to minimize disparities in care.
