Maria Cardenas Sanchez is a surgery resident passionate about learning, operating and teaching. Born and raised in Ecuador, Maria went to medical school in Quito, Ecuador. During her medical training, she had the opportunity to come to the US to do clerkships and observerships in surgery. It was her passion since the very beginning. She is currently a surgical resident at Northwell Health, New York, where she fell in love with the colorectal surgery world, thanks to her mentors and faculty. In her free time, Maria enjoys watching and playing sports. She loves playing with her dog and spending time with her loved ones.
