Pan Yan, a Master’s student in Traditional Chinese Surgical Medicine at Longhua Hospital, affiliated with Shanghai University of Traditional Chinese Medicine, and a member of the Communist Youth League. He completed his undergraduate studies in the five-year clinical programme in Traditional Chinese Medicine at Shanghai University of Traditional Chinese Medicine. During his postgraduate studies, he received a university-level academic scholarship for three consecutive years and holds certificates including the CET-4 and CET-6 English proficiency tests and the National Computer Rank Examination Level 2. He has published one SCI-indexed case report in an international journal as the first author, as well as one popular science article in a popular science journal; he also participated in the first ‘Integrative Medicine’ popular science competition and completed a popular science piece. His research focuses on the basic and clinical studies of anorectal diseases and postpartum anal incontinence.
