Dr. Aiwen Wu is an attending surgeon in Gastrointestinal Cancer Center, Peking University Cancer Hospital. He received his M.D. from Peking University in 2002 and Ph.D. degree from Renmin University of China in 2008. He got the Mammadi Soudavar Fellowship and visited the Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center in 2009. His main interests are comprehensive management of GI malignancies, especially sphincter-saving strategies and middle to low rectal cancer, and the adenocarcinoma of gastroesophageal junction. He is quite expertise in minimally invasive surgery and salvage management for recurrent or metastatic gastrointestinal malignancies.
He is active in the field of colorectal and gastric cancer. He is now the chief of Unit III (prior Colorectal Division). He served as secretary general of CGCC annual meeting since 2009 as well as the IGCC in 2017. He is the council member of Chinese Anti-Cancer Association (CACA) and chairs Colorectal Cancer Committee of Beijing Anti-Cancer Association (BACA).
