Peter W. Marcello, MD, FACS, FASCRS (he/him/his)

Dr. Peter Marcello is the Chairman of the Division of Colon and Rectal Surgery at the Lahey Hospital and Medical Center in Burlington, Massachusetts. From 1997-1999 he was on staff at the Cleveland Clinic working closely with Dr. Jeffery Milsom, and returned to Lahey in 1999. He has performed more than 3000 laparoscopic colorectal procedures including participation in the COST and ACOSOG trials. He has organized more than 160 postgraduate courses teaching laparoscopic colorectal surgery and more than 20 advanced endoscopic courses. He is recipient of both the Jeffrey Ponsky Master Educator Award from SAGES and the Mentor Award from ASCRS. He is currently working on innovations in the endoluminal resection of colorectal neoplasia.
